Luck of the Shamrock
March 8, 2009 Our March 8th tournament, “The Luck of the
Shamrock” was a huge success! We had beautiful weather and 38 ladies
competing, in two flights, for team net best ball and “Luck of the Shamrock”
prizes. In the latter contest, each lady in the foursome rotated wearing the
“lucky” shamrock tiara and recording her score while wearing it to make the
team’s “lucky shamrock” score. Despite grumblings from a few ladies about
whether or not the shamrock was more unlucky than lucky, everyone had great
fun and much laughter wearing the tiara. Congratulations to all the winners
of Saturday’s tournament:

Once again we had a few ladies joining us for their first tournament -
DeAnna Watson, Cristy Boster, Linda Bond, Chris Beasley, Marilyn Kanas and
Linda Summers – and some of them even won! We hope they’re hooked on golfing
with the Ladies Club as a result! Also, several ladies reported having
birdies during the tournament, including Darlene DeBaldo with three!
